Today the students were working in small groups creating a poster about words relating to visual arts. They created a "Four-Square Map" that contained their word, the meaning of the word, a picture representing the word, and a sentence using the word. All of the groups worked real hard on their posters, so after they were finished each group presented their poster and shared what they learned with the class. The words this week were a little trickier than they have in been in the past, but they did an awesome job and their "Four-Square Maps" posters!
During religion, Mrs. Radtke came in and joined us for our first day working in the Eucharist books. I blessed each child with Holy Water and then we started our lesson. We talked about Jesus' Baptism before discussing what they know about their own Baptism. They are more than welcome to bring in a picture and share it with the class next week! I brought in a picture from my Baptism as well as my Baptismal gown. I even brought in my Communion dress and my mom's Communion dress along with some pictures. Mrs. Radtke also shared with us her son's Baptismal gown and her daughter's Communion dress. I am so excited to be sharing this special journey with your children!
Earlier this week you received a family guide book that goes along with how we are preparing for 1st Holy Communion in class. Please make sure that you are reading it over with your children at home. We will be going over the chapters in order.
*Remember we do not have school Monday (10/13) or Friday (10/17).
Have a wonderful weekend :)
